As we get close to the end of the first quarter of 2022, it feels like we’ve finally reached the light at the end of the tunnel. Our HQ team has been working hard to get everything set up for the launch of the GetintheLoop app in the US, and I’m proud to say we have finally launched! We launched with 260 venues on the platform and are in the process of adding more in the coming months. The team is excited to watch the American markets grow alongside Canada’s, and I’m looking forward to building relationships in the states.
In the last week or so, we welcomed three new Local Owners from two new markets into our network! Congratulations to Nabin Luintel and Dr. Sunil Sijapati from Mississauga, Ontario, and José Luis Lau Cruz from Brampton, Ontario. They just finished their onboarding process through LoopU, and we wish them luck as they take ownership of their markets. We’re rooting for you!
Besides our US launch, our biggest win for Q1 is thanks to our HQ tech and development team. After some trial and error, they had a huge breakthrough with the overhaul of the GetintheLoop web app. It’s hard to summarize what took months to innovate, but translated from tech speak, we:
- Moved to a new modern code base that cut our load time in half. This means Members will see fresh offers 2x faster, and innovations in the future can be executed more quickly
- Adopted a new architecture that lets us improve SEO performance in ways we couldn’t before. This means GetintheLoop offers will appear more often through organic search engine searches, like when someone searches for “cafes near me”
- Improved the navigation and overall aesthetic to now match the mobile app, making it easier to browse and redeem offers
- Made the new layout display 4 offers wide, letting Members view more offers at one time
